Scrabble Word Finder

Enter the letters on your rack and get every playable word ranked by Scrabble points. Use ? for a blank tile.

How the Scrabble Word Finder Works

Enter the letters from your Scrabble rack above. The finder searches over 370,000 words and shows every legal play, with each word’s Scrabble point value displayed next to it. Sort by Points to instantly see your highest-scoring options.

Have a blank tile? Type a ? in place of it. Blanks match any letter, and the tool factors them into which words you can build (blanks themselves score zero points, just like in the real game).

Scrabble Letter Values

Points in Scrabble range from 1 for common letters (A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R) up to 10 for the rarest (Q and Z). Balancing high-value letters with playable positions is the key to a strong score.

Short two- and three-letter words are often the secret weapon of expert players — they let you hook onto existing words and hit premium squares. The finder includes these too, so nothing is missed.

Scrabble Strategy Guide

Control the board. Expert players think about board position as much as word score. Playing near premium squares — especially triple-word scores — can multiply your points dramatically. Conversely, avoid opening triple-word squares for your opponent.

Learn the two-letter words. There are about 100 valid two-letter words in Scrabble, and knowing them is what separates beginners from intermediate players. Words like QI, ZA, XI, JO, and KA let you make plays in tight spots and score on parallel words.

Save your S and blank tiles. The S tile is incredibly versatile — it can pluralize an existing word on the board while simultaneously forming a new word. Blanks should ideally be saved for seven-letter plays (bingos) that earn a 50-point bonus.

Manage your rack. A balanced mix of vowels and consonants gives you the most options. If your rack is vowel-heavy, play a short word to exchange some. Our finder shows you every option so you can choose the play that improves your rack for the next turn.

Complete Scrabble Tile Distribution

A standard English Scrabble set has 100 tiles: A×9, B×2, C×2, D×4, E×12, F×2, G×3, H×2, I×9, J×1, K×1, L×4, M×2, N×6, O×8, P×2, Q×1, R×6, S×4, T×6, U×4, V×2, W×2, X×1, Y×2, Z×1, plus 2 blank tiles.

Knowing the tile distribution helps you make strategic decisions. For example, there are 12 E tiles in the bag — more than any other letter — so an E-heavy rack is common. Meanwhile, there is only one Q and one Z, so if you see those letters on your rack, you know no one else has them.
